Job Purpose:
To manage, recruit and develop a team of [30] Drivers in order to deliver a high quality and efficient service to customers [6] days a week. The role will see the job holder proactively developing and implementing a structured and cost-effective approach to legally compliant fleet management, whilst reporting on the efficiency of the operation to Senior Management.
Working to agreed budgets and targets, the job holder will be a key member of the management team who will strive to meet the goals of the business. Additionally, the job holder will control the ongoing improvement of customer satisfaction by liaising with customers and implementing solutions, therefore strong written and verbal use of the English language is crucial for success in the role.

Job Purpose:

- Calculating and recording core and agency driver hours on a weekly basis
- Maintain tachograph analysis records and file them in line with the legislation
- Requirement to be named on the Operator’s Licence
- Maintain Vehicle & Driver compliance in accordance with regulation
- Maintaining fleet records in line with company policy and legislation
- Updating drivers hours, holiday, and sickness onto the appropriate records
- Manage Customer Service issues that may arise professionally and effectively
- Work according to the Safe Systems of Work (SSOW) at all times.
- National Transport Manager CPC
- Experience in being named on Operator’s Licence
- Excellent people management skills, able to motivate and engage others to deliver excellent service and performance
- Previous experience organising Vehicle & Driver Compliance within a Transport environment
- Previous warehouse/distribution experience is essential along with experience of coordinating an inbound/outbound department.
- Full control and management of working time directive regulations
- Experience of automated driver and delivery tracking systems, training will be given to company specific solutions
- You will have sound IT/PC equipment skills including WMS systems and excellent MS office skills.
- Experience with planning & distribution software
- Customer Service skills are central to the company, so you will have experience with dealing with clients and drivers in a clear and calm manner. You will have the ability to pay attention to detail and maintain a right first time culture
- Previous experience working with H&S and Risk Assessments
- You will have the ability to build effective working relationships with different groups, as well as a willingness to contribute extra effort and energy to co-operate with others in depot.
- Must possess a high level of management skills
