About the Role
It’s our vision to be every chef’s first choice and as our transport manager you would play a very important role to ensure this happens. Our drivers are imperative to us achieving this vision every single day, where they proudly represent our business being the friendly faces our chefs see.
This new role provides an exciting opportunity for any experienced transport manager who wishes to progress further within their career. You would oversee 4 of our trunk sites located across the South of the UK, with our main hub being based in Paignton Devon. We are looking for someone who really excels at engaging with their people, focusing on getting the best from them at all times. You would be fully accountable for all people management, legal, operational, health and safety, Food Safety and environmental legislation; whilst achieving the best possible level of service to internal and external customers; with support from your supervisors with the day to day operation.
You’ll have:
- Proven ability to lead and motivate transport teams, with excellent people management and employee relation skills
- Previous management experience within a fast moving transport environment.
- Previous experience with planning, distribution software
- Have excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
- Have thorough working knowledge of transport, Food Safety, Health and Safety and Environmental legislation.
- Be able to work with agreed budgets on cost and headcount.
- Be a professional manager with inspirational, motivation and management skills.
- Be proactive and visualise the bigger picture.
- Be a team player within the peer and able to offer ideas and solutions to improve service to our Customers
Desirable:
- Experience in being named on an Operator’s Licence
- National Transport Manger CPC qualification – for the right person we would sponsor the training for this
